Whitmore Pool at 904 Benton Crossing Road (760) 935-4222 is owned and operated by the Town of Mammoth Lakes, Parks and Recreation Department.
The facility includes a six lane 25-meter pool, children's wading pool, restrooms, hot showers, lawn area, BBQ and vending machines.
Whitmore Pool is about 8.5 miles, 15 minutes, from Mammoth Lakes and about 34.5 miles, 45 minutes, from Bishop. From Mammoth Lakes proceed south on U.S. 395, past the airport and turn left on Benton Crossing Road at the "green church". From Bishop proceed north on U.S. 395, and turn right on Benton Crossing Road at the "green church".
On Benton Crossing Road proceed past the Mono County Animal Shelter and the Whitmore Baseball fields about one mile and bear right at the sign a short distance to the Whitmore Pool parking lot.
Lodging and Food
Mammoth Lakes and Bishop have a wide variety of lodging and eating establishments. Nearby are the Convict Lake Restaurant and the Crowley Lake Store. Toms Place has a restaurant and store. There are vending machines at the pool.
