South Lake Tahoe Recreation and Swim Pool Complex

The South Lake Tahoe Recreation and Swim Pool Complex is located at 1180 Rufus Allen Blvd, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150-8202 - (530) 542-6056.

The facility is a heated 25 yard, 6 lane pool. It is the only public pool in South Lake Tahoe .. it is indoors during the winter months and outdoors during the summer months. When the pool is indoors the air temperature is always 70 degrees and the water temperature is 81 degrees.

Directions to the Pool

From Mammoth Lakes proceed north on U.S. 395 about 120 miles to Gardnerville, NV.

From Gardnerville you have the choice of taking the Kingsbury Grade Road (SR 207) or continuing north on U.S. 395 to the junction with U.S. 50.

Kingsbury Grade Road Route

This route is about 141 miles - allow 2 hours 25 minutes driving time in good weather.

In the center of Gardnerville, turn left onto Gilman Avenue - SR 756. In a short distance this turns into Centerville Lane as you follow SR 756 south (see map below).

In about 1.3 miles turn right (west) on to Waterloo Lane - SR 207. Waterloo Lane is a sort of weird road. In about 1.3 miles you turn right (north), then in about half a mile you turn left (west), continuing on Waterloo Lane/Mottsville Lane and SR 207. In about half a mile you cross SR 88. About 3.3 miles further you cross SR 206. SR 207 then starts up the Kingsbury Grade about 10 miles to meet U.S. 50 - total about 16.6 miles from Gardnerville.

At U.S. 50, turn left through Stateline, NV into South Lake Tahoe about 2.7 miles to Rufus Allen Blvd. When you see the lake, watch for Rufus Allen Blvd on the left next to Campground by the Lake. Turn left on to Ruffus Allen Blvd for about 0.4 miles to the Recreation Center and Swimming Pool.

Highway 50 Route

This route is about 157 miles - allow 2 hours 50 minutes driving time in good weather.

Continue north on U.S. 395 from Gardnerville, through Minden about 13 miles to the junction with U.S. 50 (133 miles from Mammoth). Turn left (west) on U.S. 50 and proceed toward South Lake Tahoe. In about 24 miles, when you see the lake, watch for Rufus Allen Blvd on the left next to Campground by the Lake. Turn left on to Ruffus Allen Blvd for about 0.4 miles to the Recreation Center and Swimming Pool.
